Locus of internal control and entrepreneurial intentions of vocational high school students

Abstract

Internal locus of control is one of the factors that has contributed to the entrepreneurial intentions of vocational high school students. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intentions in vocational high school students. The population in this study were all students of class XII at 3 Bandung Vocational High School as many as 392 students and the total research participants were 171 students.

The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data collection is done by using the scale of entrepreneurial intentions and internal Locus of control scale. Data analysis was performed using product moment analysis techniques. The results of data analysis showed a significant positive relationship between internal Locus of control with entrepreneurial intentions, with a significance level (p) of 0.030. Internal locus of control contributes 2.1 percent to entrepreneurial intentions so the remaining 97.9 percent is influenced by other variables. It can be concluded from this study that students' internal locus of control can predict students' entrepreneurial intentions.
